About Us

Croteau is a punk rock band from the Isle of Man, known for their high energy sets filled with loud, catchy, and aggressive originals. The band is comprised of Ali Alistair on guitar and vocals, Jake Newton on bass and vocals, and Grey Doyle on drums.

Formed in 2022 while only 15 years old, the band have gained a slightly controversial reputation in their local music scene for their politicised and offensive lyrics which attack religion, law enforcement, and monarchy. At gigs; the band have received death threats and even had pints of beer thrown at them. Despite this, the band have achieved local success. They've been played on the radio a few times and have won local battle of the band competitions (Best Original Song in 2023 and Best Senior Band in 2024)

Croteau are currently in the midst of recording their debut EP which should be released by the end of the year.

Influenced by various punk, grunge, and experimental bands such as Fugazi, Public Image Ltd, Crass, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Dead Kennedys, and Black Flag, Croteau have an eclectic mix of originals which combine their influences in various different ways.

Croteau also have a passion for literature; frequently referencing writers/poets such as Arthur Rimbaud, Osamu Dazai, William Burroughs, and George Orwell in their lyrics.​​
